Hearing for El Chapo's Son Rescheduled

The hearing for Joaquín Guzmán López, son of El Chapo Guzmán, has been postponed to April 18th. The decision was made by agreement of the parties and confirmed by the office of federal judge Sharon Johnson Coleman, who is handling the case in a federal court in Chicago. The new date is scheduled for 10:30 AM.

Amid discussions confirmed by both parties before the court, an agreement is being sought to avoid bringing the case to trial. Guzmán López was arrested last July after voluntarily surrendering to U.S. authorities upon landing in a private plane in Texas. On that same aircraft, the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada, was also aboard, who is facing a criminal process in New York.

"We cited the agreed determination to reschedule the hearing on the mentioned date," stated federal judge Sharon Johnson Coleman.
